I’ve been noticing lately a lot of writers/authors (in several groups I follow here in the vast world of the internet), are asking each other the question - ‘How many words do you write in a day?’
“Yes, I admit, I do get lost in the endless cycle of Social Media hopping.”
But, back to the question – Most of the answers I saw posted, were about as varied and numerous as are the number of different personalities in all the world. Each of us are quite unique, likes and dislikes, etc. It would indeed be a boring world if we were all identical.
Some posted to writing 500 words a day. Others posted anywhere between 1,000 to 10,000 words a day. I guess it all depends on our moods, enthusiasm, deadlines and such. Kudos to each and every one of us! Write, write, and write some more.
This question, ‘How many words do you write in a day? prompts another question in my own head. ‘How fast do you type?’
Me? Very slow . . .

You may ask . . . WHY?
I never took typing classes in school. I am a Self-Taught typist. I use, on average, three (3) fingers on each hand. I know . . . (please don’t judge me, okay?), I know I should learn to type correctly, and really, I am trying.
Like when I used to drive an 18-wheeler . . .
Yes – it’s true, I used to drive an 18-wheeler . . .
It was a fun job, got to see most of the upper 48 states in the good ole’ U.S.A.
On several occasions when I was a ‘Driver’ (a little trucker lingo here), I was told I would have to assist with the loading or unloading of my truck. Can you guess what my response to that was?
“I am a truck driver - not a loader or unloader.”
So finally, to sum this up:
To the question as to how many words I type in a day –
Let me just say - "I'm a writer . . . not a typist.”
“I’m doing it the only way I know how.”
